'Proud To Be A Sikh 2' to release tomorrow

In what will be the last Punjabi movie to release in 2017, ‘Proud To Be A Sikh 2’ is all set to hit the big screens tomorrow (29/12/2017). Despite the release of some soi-disant big movies in the recent times, the Punjabi film industry has failed to produce a successful project in the last quarter of this year. Whether Proud To Be A Sikh 2 will change the circumstances, only time will tell.

The movie is a sequel to 2014-film, ‘Proud To Be A Sikh’. The trailer of the movie was released on the official YouTube channel of Yaar Anmulle Records (Official Music Label) in August. At the time of writing this article, it has received in excess of 6 lakh views on the same platform.

Satdeep Singh, who directed Proud To Be A Sikh, has directed its sequel as well. The movie is being released under the banner of Shan-e-Khalsa Productions. Dr. Rupinder Singh has written the story of the movie. Manjit Singh has performed the role of a DOP. Jasdeep Singh, Usa, Randy J and Mr V Grooves have musically directed the various songs of the movie. Kambi Rajpuria, Pardeep S Sran, Jasdeep Singh and Renu Jagtora have lent their voices to these songs which are written by Inder Pandori and Sonu Gill.

Amritpal Singh Billa, Atvinder Singh, Gursimran Kaur, Sunny Gill ,Vijay Dhunna, Sifat Sidhu, Jatin Bhatia, Tegbir Singh, Honey Grewal, Hina Bhatia, Devkaran Singh and Gagandeep Kaur are playing pivotal roles in the movie.

In an event preceding the release of the movie, Billa was quoted, “This film shows the right path to our youth and unravels the true facts behind the sacrilege of SHRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI in Punjab. Proud to Be a Sikh 2 is a second part and pays tribute to the martyrdom of Sahibzadas. It also has a special song for the Prakash Purab of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji (Kalgidhar Pita).”
