Renowned singer Adnan Sami has sharply responded to former Pakistan minister Fawad Chaudhary after the latter questioned his Indian citizenship. Following Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s directive for states to ensure no Pakistani national remains in India post the Pahalgam terror attack, Hussain took to X (formerly Twitter) to comment, “What about Adnan Sami?"
Sami did not hold back and fired back on social media, calling Hussain an "illiterate idiot." His witty and blunt response quickly went viral, earning applause from fans across India.
After this, Fawad Chaudhary tried to take another dig at him and wrote: "Our very Own Lahori Adnan Sami aisay lag rahay hein jaisey Balooon se hawa nikal chuki hooo… get well soon."
To this, Adnan Sami came back with an even stronger response. He wrote: "Even that you didn’t get right you dumb Ass… My roots are from Peshawar- Not Lahore!! To think that you were Minister of (Mis) Information and did not know any information!!!! Meri tho hawa nikal gaee- Tu abhi bhi Balloon hai! And you were Minister of Science?… Was that the Science of BULL SH*T?? Now I know what the ‘CH’ in your name stands for!!!! - Mohallay-Ke-Duplicate-Bhaand!!"
The controversy didn’t stop there. Another Pakistani user attempted to mock Sami, suggesting that he should not return to Pakistan and still had "a lot of information to gather." The singer, known for his humor, replied, "Haan… Abhi unke kareeb woh dhamaakedaar information aapko udhti hui aaee gi!! Aapko Lift Karade gi!! Enjoy," referencing his famous hit "Lift Karadey."
Notably, Adnan Sami, who obtained Indian citizenship in 2016, has been vocal about feeling unsafe in Pakistan.
Celebrated for his soulful voice and chartbusters like Tera Chehra, Lift Karadey, and Kabhi To Nazar Milao, Adnan Sami continues to enjoy immense popularity and remains a beloved figure in Indian music.
