Mumbai: Reality television personality Akanksha Choudhary made a startling revelation after her exit from Lock Upp 2, alleging that she was once subjected to a casting couch proposition by a prominent figure associated with the beauty pageant industry.
Opening up about the incident on the show, Akanksha said the episode occurred when she was preparing to participate in a beauty pageant and urgently needed financial support. According to her, the expenses for training, garments and other preparations amounted to around ?1–2 lakh, a sum her family was unable to arrange.
She claimed she approached a well-known personality from the pageant circuit, someone reputed for mentoring and financially assisting aspiring contestants. Akanksha said she offered to work for him for a few months in exchange for financial help, and he agreed, inviting her to his residence for a meeting.
Recounting the alleged incident, Akanksha said she had visited his house previously and therefore did not suspect anything unusual. However, she alleged that the meeting took an unexpected turn when the man behaved inappropriately after greeting her.
According to her, she resisted his advances and managed to free herself. She further alleged that the individual later told her she could have achieved greater success in the industry had she approached him earlier.
Akanksha also claimed that the man allegedly offered to finance her pageant journey on the condition that she enter into a sexual relationship with him. She said she immediately rejected the proposal, adding that she would never have attended the meeting had she known his intentions.
The reality star further alleged that the individual warned she would regret refusing the offer within two years. However, Akanksha said she stood by her decision and never looked back.
Reflecting on her career, she said she eventually secured opportunities in major projects through her own efforts and perseverance. She maintained that her achievements were earned through hard work rather than compromising her principles.
The individual referred to in Akanksha's account has not been publicly identified, and no response from the alleged person was available at the time of reporting. The claims remain allegations made by Akanksha Choudhary, and have not been independently verified.
