Amyra Dastur Spills The Beans On Her Debut Punjabi Movie, Read Inside

We frequently lambaste Punjabi filmmakers for using the same faces in their films and songs. But after much thought and analysis over the last two years, some improvements have been made. Thus, new onscreen couples as well as thought-provoking issues have arrived in theaters. Not only do we witness couples but we can see new faces in the industry as well. And one among them is Amyra Dastur. The actress who made her name in Bollywood and Hindi cinema is now a heartthrob in the Punjabi industry as well.

She has been seen as a lead actress in two films Any How Mitti Pao and Chidiyan Da Chamba. But we got our hands on some special information about Amyra Dastur’s Punjabi cinema debut. In the interview with Punjabi Mania, she spilt the beans about her initial film which very few know is Furteela. Yes, you read that right. Amyra shot Furteela as her debut Punjabi film in 2022 but due to some reasons the film was delayed for its release and now has been released in 2024. 

She talks very highly of the experience of shooting with director Amar Hundal and co-star Jassie Gill, who served as her "introduction" to the Punjabi film industry. Though they started later, the other two movies were released before Furteela. This news of Amyra Dastur has made her fans more anticipating watching this film as it's the first film which was shot as her Punjabi debut. 

Speaking of the movie, Furteela stars Jassie Gill opposite Amyra Dastur. It has been directed by acclaimed filmmaker Amar Hundal. The trailer of the same has also been out. The film's plot revolves around college student Jassie Gill's romantic relationship with Amyra Dastur. Once he decides to go after his unrequited love, a rollercoaster of emotions starts.
