Ahead of his much-anticipated live performance in Bengaluru, Punjabi music star Karan Aujla has been directed to omit several songs from his act following intervention by child protection authorities.
The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) issued a notice barring six tracks from being performed at the event, citing concerns about their potential impact on young audiences. The directive came after a formal complaint was lodged by a professor based in Chandigarh.
Officials have made it clear that one particular track, “Gangsta,” will not be allowed under any circumstances. Law enforcement agencies have also been instructed to oversee the implementation of these restrictions at the venue.
Authorities stated that the move is intended to ensure that public performances remain appropriate for all sections of society, especially children. The decision reflects increasing scrutiny over lyrical content at large-scale entertainment events.
The development has stirred debate among fans and observers, with some raising questions about censorship, while others supporting the focus on safeguarding younger audiences.
Despite the restrictions, the concert is expected to proceed, with adjustments made to the playlist in accordance with the guidelines.
