Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh has achieved a milestone moment for South Asian music, with more than one million fans reportedly lining up in online pre-sale queues for his upcoming Aura World Tour across the United States and Canada.
The overwhelming response during the early ticket access phase has set a new benchmark for Punjabi live events internationally. Ticketing platforms recorded unprecedented traffic as fans attempted to secure seats for the 13-city North American leg of the tour.
The concerts are scheduled to begin in Vancouver this April before moving to major venues in cities such as Dallas, Atlanta, New York, Toronto and San Francisco. The first round of tickets was released through an American Express cardholder pre-sale on February 10, with additional pre-sales and general ticket sales rolling out on February 12.
According to event organisers, the demand has surpassed initial projections, prompting teams to closely monitor ticketing systems to handle the surge in online visitors. Social media platforms were flooded with screenshots from fans showing queue numbers climbing into the hundreds of thousands, with many urging organisers to add extra dates or upgrade to larger venues.
Industry analysts say the scale of interest underscores Dosanjh’s growing global footprint and highlights the rapid rise of Punjabi music in mainstream international markets. His previous Dil-Luminati Tour in 2024 included sold-out performances at prominent venues, notably filling Vancouver’s BC Place stadium with more than 50,000 attendees — a rare feat for a Punjabi artist.
Over the past few years, Dosanjh has expanded his audience well beyond traditional diaspora strongholds, drawing diverse crowds across North America, Europe and Australia. The response to the Aura World Tour suggests that Punjabi music has firmly secured a place on the global live entertainment map.
With ticket sales still underway, organisers are bracing for continued high demand, as what began as a pre-sale rush has quickly evolved into one of the year’s most talked-about concert events.
