Jodi, the latest offering from Rhythm Boyz Entertainment & Thind Motion Films has hit it big in it's opening weekend in Canada. The film has grossed over CAD 683,461 in Canada releasing in just 66 cinemas. Starring Diljit Dosanjh & Nimrat Khaira in lead roles the film opened in Canada in select cinemas on Thursday (May 4) & had a wide release on Friday (May 5).

The demand for tickets of Jodi has been unprecedented and cinemas had to add midnight and post mindnight shows on demand in many centers. The figure of CAD 683,461 is not official and has been informed to Punjabi Mania by our sources in Canada. The actual figures may even end up on the higher side. But the film has breached the Rs. 4 Crore Mark in Canada itself within 3 days of release.

Rhythm Boyz' latest release has broken the record of their own previous film, Chhalla Mud Ke Nahi Aaya Record which featured Amrinder Gill in the lead role and opened in Cinemas last summer. That film collected CAD 662,112 in Canada in its Opening Weekend. Once again, a Rhythm Boyz Entertainment film has broken the record of a Rhythm Boyz Entertainment film to claim the top spot at the Canada Box Office in Punjabi Cinema.

Rhythm Boyz Entertainment, one of the leading production houses in the Punjabi industry, has a second to none strike rate when it comes to delivering both affluent and meaningful movies. What has led me to mention the term strike rate is Rhythm Boyz's uninterrupted streak of coming up with movies which are liked by all sections of the society.

Having entered the film industry with 'Angrej' (2015), the enterprise has given voice to multiple plutocratic movies since then and even created a few successful franchises within an 8 year span! A production house such as Rhythm Boyz should persist with making similar movies in the future for the overall amelioration of the Punjabi film industry.
