Punjabi singer and actor Gurnam Bhullar has shared an emotional message following the positive response to his latest film Ishqa’n De Lekhe, opening up about the difficult period he faced in the film industry and expressing gratitude to those who supported him during challenging times.

In a heartfelt note, Bhullar acknowledged that some people in the industry might feel his message is lengthy, but he said the moment holds deep personal significance for him. He credited the film’s success first to divine blessings, saying that everything else is simply part of a larger story.

The actor revealed that there was a phase when two of his films failed to perform at the box office over a span of nearly two years. During that time, he said he approached several people in the industry seeking opportunities, even suggesting that successful films he had earlier worked in could be continued with sequels. However, he claimed that many responses he received were discouraging, with some people telling him it would be difficult for his films to succeed again.

Bhullar admitted that such reactions were painful, especially after having delivered hit films in the past. According to him, being made to feel incapable despite previous successes was one of the toughest experiences of his career.

The actor credited two individuals, Bal and Baljit, for encouraging him to take matters into his own hands by producing a film himself instead of waiting for others to back him. He said the journey of putting together the project was challenging and involved significant effort and financial risk.

Bhullar also thanked the team that supported the film’s production and release. He expressed appreciation for writer Jassi Lohka, director M.V. Brar, and co-actor Isha Malviya, along with the music label Speed Records and production partner Panorama Studios for believing in the project.

Reflecting on the film’s release, Bhullar said some people had doubts about how long it would perform in theatres, predicting it might struggle after the opening weekend due to factors such as cricket matches and changing audience trends. However, he said the eventual response from viewers made the victory more satisfying.

The actor emphasised that while the film’s success is meaningful, it does not define his entire career, just as a few unsuccessful films should not determine anyone’s future in the industry. He urged the film fraternity to avoid judging an artist’s career based on temporary ups and downs.

Bhullar also shared a message about loyalty and support, noting that true companions are those who stand by someone during difficult times rather than only celebrating success.

Concluding his statement, he once again credited his achievements to faith and blessings, adding that the journey has only just begun. He said he intends to continue making films with honesty and dedication in the years ahead.
