Honsla Rakh: The most recently announced Punjabi movie starring prominent names will hit the silver screens on Dusshera this year.

Singer-turned-actor Diljit Dosanjh and actress Sonam Bajwa will reunite on the big screen for a feature film after four years in recently announced movie titled 'Honsla Rakh'.

Having worked together in Anurag Singh's 'Punjab 1984' (2014) and 'Super Singh' (2017) and Rohit Jugraj's 'Sardaar Ji 2' (2016), this will be the fourth collaboration of the pair in a Punjabi movie.

It is worth mentioning that Bajwa had played a cameo role (including a dance number) opposite Dosanjh in Jagdeep Sidhu's 'Shadaa' (2019). The last that the two of them had worked together was for Dosanjh single track titled 'Surma(2019).

Actress Shehnaz Gill, who was last seen in Baljit Singh Deo's 'Daaka' (2019), will also be playing a parallel lead opposite Dosanjh and Bajwa in Honsla Rakh.

In what is unequivocally a heartwarming development with respect to the Punjabi industry, Desi Rockstar Gippy Grewal's son Shinda Grewal will be playing the role of Dosanjh's son in this father-son story.

Honsla Rakh to release on October 15

Set to release on Dusshera 2021, i.e., October 15, Honsla Rakh will be directed by Amarjit Singh Saron. Coming on the back of 'Kala Shah Kala(2019) and 'Jhalle' (2019), Honsla Rakh will be Saron's second collaboration with Dosanjh after 'Ranna Ch Dhanna'.

The star-studded lineup of the movie doesn't end here. While Baljit Singh Deo will be working as a DOP in Honsla Rakh, it has been written by Rakesh Dhawan, who has become a known name in writing comedy movies.

Dosanjh, who will also be producing the movie alongside Daljit Thind under the banners of Thind Motion Films and Storytime Productions, will also be seen in 'Jodiand Ranna Ch Dhanna in the near future. Bajwa, on the other hand, has a couple of unreleased movies under her belt namely Puaada‘ and Main Viyah Nahi Karona Tere Naal‘.
