While she worked as an associate director in a Hindi movie titled ‘Elbert Einstein’, she has worked as a creative director in yet to release Punjabi movie titled ‘Sorry 22 Sorry’.

Having started her career as an associate director, Drall has also transformed into a music video director. As far as this movie is concerned, Drall has also written the screenplay and dialogues of the movie.

In a male-dominated industry, it speaks highly of Drall’s skills to have donned so many hats at the same time. An aspiring feature film director, Drall’s technical side has even seen her playing the role of a DOP in Sougaat.

“We met through a common friend. He [Gurna] had a target to send his script to IFFSA. I was searching for a script and he was searching for a director. That is where we connected instantly and collaborated for this project,” Drall was quoted as saying.

Being asked about the subject of the movie, Drall opened up on the genre of the movie, i.e., romance and family drama. Drall sounded confident of the messaging of the movie having it in it to resonate well with the youth.

“The movie has a deep message for the contemporary youth. Irrespective of our family relations, there’s a certain age where we tend to cater more to our girlfriends/boyfriends. In the process, we usually start caring less about our parents and their suggestions.

“It’s a very emotional movie which refrains from taking sides. Instead, it gives a lesson which is likely to enlighten people. The voice over during the climax will make people realize the importance of all the relations,” Drall added.

Sougaat will witness Mohini Toor, Prabh Sandhu, Yogesh Gurna and Rajwinder Samrala in pivotal roles. While Toor was last seen in Unni Ikki, she will next be seen in the upcoming Punjabi movie titled ‘Sufna’. As far as Sandhu is concerned, she played the role of Amrinder Gill’s sister in ‘Chal Mera Putt’ last year.

Here is wishing the whole team of Sougaat lots of luck for the IFFA film festival!
