Sidhu Moose Wala new movie: The sensational Punjabi singer will be seen in his second Punjabi movie within as many weeks.

Director Tarnvir Singh Jagpal is all in readiness of making his debut as a producer with his upcoming Punjabi movie titled 'Yes I Am Student'. With the movie scheduled to release on October 22, it isn't a surprise that Jagpal is busy in taking care of multiple things which are mandatory before a release.

"It [producing a movie] is quite difficult, to be honest. There are a lot of things to manage. But being a producer yourself improves the quality of your film to a large extent," Jagpal told Punjabi Mania during a telephonic interview.

"See, if you want to achieve something in life, you have to pay a price for it in terms of hard work. So, no complaints."

It was in his second movie titled 'Daana Paani(2018) that Jagpal had tasted blood by being a co-producer. Being asked about producing Yes I Am Student on his own, Jagpal termed it as a team-decision comprising of the lead actors in Sidhu Moose Wala and Mandy Takhar and writer Gill Raunta.

"I think it has got a lot to do with my personal equations with Sidhu [Moose Wala] and Mandy [Takhar]. We treat each other like a family. We could have waited for another producer to come onboard but then this movie had already faced a lot of delays. Hence, it was a combined decision to go ahead with the movie on our own," Jagpal added.

For someone of his age, it is no mean feat to direct three films (including one as co-producer and one as producer). Being asked to evaluate his individual journey in the showbiz till now, Jagpal restrained from taking any credit himself laying emphasis on god making plans for him.

"Honestly speaking, I hadn't thought of doing all of this. There are some things which god wants you to do and creates circumstances which lead you to achieve that. It just happens automatically," he mentioned.

Tarnvir Singh Jagpal explains rationale behind casting Sidhu Moose Wala in 'Yes I Am Student'

First announced almost three years agoYes I Am Student is among the multiple movies which had been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Announced as Moose Wala's debut movie, the movie will now release as the third movie in his filmography. However, Jagpal believes that Moose Wala signing more movies with time neither affected him nor made him think on the lines of forcing a release.

"Nothing like that. Other movies were more of instant plans for him [Sidhu Moose Wala]. I believe these things shouldn't matter in friendship. No one should be bound. Each individual should be allowed to take his own decisions. I never thought about releasing Yes I Am Student in a hurry just because another movie starring Sidhu is slated to release," Jagpal said.

Having delivered two critically and commercially successful movies, Jagpal could have signed anyone among the tried and tested names for this third movie. Despite a fantastic start, Jagpal opted to work with a debutant (when film was announced) in Moose Wala believing the decision to be "perfect".

"He has lived an overseas student's life. Many things were relatable for him. Hence, it was very easy for him to act in Yes I Am Student. Had I signed someone else, it would've taken me all the more time to make him understand about my vision with respect to this movie.

"Sidhu's presence in Yes I Am Student is a perfect casting decision. I think anyone else in his place would've found playing this character very difficult," Jagpal said assuringly.

Not big on dictating terms on the back of hefty box-office collections, all Jagpal expects from people with respect to Yes I Am Student is to give it a chance in the cinema hall without any kind of preconceived notion in mind.

"Umm...I don't have any expectations per se. I believe in god and know that I will be duly appreciated if the movie is genuinely good. If the movie isn't up to the mark, it will show in the results and I will accept it. All I expect is for people to give the movie one chance. I believe people will have a good time watching this archetype family movie," Jagpal concluded.
