Randeep Hooda Joins Flood Relief Efforts in Assam, Helps Serve Langar to Displaced Families

Sivasagar: Actor Randeep Hooda has stepped away from the spotlight to support flood relief operations in Assam, joining hands with humanitarian organisation Global Sikhs to provide assistance to families displaced by the devastating floods.

Currently stationed in Sivasagar, one of the districts worst affected by the deluge, Hooda has been helping volunteers prepare and distribute freshly cooked langar meals at the local railway station. The initiative aims to support families who have received dry ration supplies but lack basic cooking facilities such as gas cylinders or stoves.

Apart from serving meals, the actor has been actively involved in distributing essential relief materials and visiting the local Gurudwara, where volunteers have been coordinating aid for flood-hit communities. He also participated in assembling emergency relief kits containing mattresses, tarpaulins and other basic necessities for families yet to receive assistance.

Speaking about his involvement, Hooda stressed the importance of standing by people during difficult times. "Humanity is above everything else. It is our duty to help our fellow human beings," he said.

According to official figures, the floods in Assam have claimed 82 lives, while nearly 1.93 lakh people continue to be affected across five districts. Sivasagar and Charaideo remain among the hardest-hit regions, with thousands of residents displaced from their homes.

Volunteers from Global Sikhs have also been using boats to reach villages cut off by floodwaters, ensuring food and relief supplies reach remote communities where road access has been disrupted.

Hooda's participation in the relief mission has drawn appreciation on social media, with many praising the actor for personally joining humanitarian efforts on the ground rather than limiting his support to online appeals. His involvement has brought renewed attention to the continuing challenges faced by flood-affected families in Assam, where rescue, rehabilitation and relief operations remain underway.
