Salman Khan Jokes About Divorce and Alimony on The Great Indian Kapil Show: “Nowadays, Women Take Half Your Money”

Superstar Salman Khan is all set to appear as the first guest on the much-awaited new season of The Great Indian Kapil Show, premiering on Netflix on June 21. Ahead of the official release, a teaser clip from the episode has surfaced online, grabbing headlines for Salman’s candid and comedic take on modern-day relationships, divorce, and alimony.

In the viral snippet, Salman humorously reflects on how times have changed in matters of marriage and divorce. "Pehle log ek dusre ke liye sacrifice karte the, ek tolerance ka factor tha. Ab raat ko ek taang aa jaati hai upar, khaarate liye jaate hain, uske upar divorce ho jaata hai," he quipped, drawing laughter from the audience. (Translation: "Earlier, people made sacrifices, and there was tolerance. Now, if someone’s leg comes over at night, or they snore, it becomes a reason for divorce.")

Taking the joke further, he added, “Chhoti si misunderstanding pe divorce ho jaata hai. Aur phir divorce toh chalo ho gaya, voh aadhe paise bhi leke chali jaati hai.” (“Even a small misunderstanding leads to divorce. And after that, she walks away with half the money.”)

The cheeky remark left not just the live audience but also host Kapil Sharma, Archana Puran Singh, and guest judge Navjot Singh Sidhu in fits of laughter. Reactions online were equally mixed, with many fans finding Salman’s tongue-in-cheek comment relatable, while others debated the deeper implications of the joke.

Salman’s appearance on the Netflix show marks his first full-length comedy chat in a while, and fans are eager for more unfiltered moments from the upcoming episode.

On the professional front, the Bollywood megastar was last seen in AR Murugadoss’ high-octane action thriller Sikandar, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, and Sathyaraj.
