Dev Kharoud proclaims Jimmy Sheirgill to be the main hero of 'Shareek 2': The actor spoke highly of his senior co-star.
Actor Dev Kharoud has expressed gratitude towards his staunch fans in Punjab who make it a point to register housefull shows on the day of release of his films.
Speaking to Punjabi Mania during the recent trailer launch of his upcoming movie titled 'Shareek 2', Kharoud admitted to feeling the pressure of having a loyal fan-base but also talked about affection motivating him to do better.
"They love and respect me a lot. I thank god and also wonder as to what is so special in me that people love me this much," Kharoud told Punjabi Mania.
"They register housefull shows, hoot while watching me [on the silver screen]. Whatever I am today, it is because of them. I am indebted to them. Affection of this level gives you pressure. No doubt in it. But it also motivates you to do better."

Coming on the back of a stellar performance in Mandeep Benipal's 'Dakuaan Da Munda 2', Kharoud's next movie will release on July 8; six weeks after his first movie since the COVID-19 lockdown.
Working for the first time alongside a seasoned name in Jimmy Sheirgill, Kharoud conveyed excitement at the opportunity of having got to work with such an actor. While Kharoud rued not having any scene showing camaraderie between the two due to the script of the Shareek franchise, him locking horns with Sheirgill is a primary reason why audiences will be allured towards the cinema halls.
Gracious enough to proclaim Sheirgill as the "main hero" of Shareek 2, Kharoud revealed how he used to mug up his lines in the vanity van in order to not err in front of Sheirgill.
"I'm not the only hero in the movie. Jimmy [Sheirgill] bhaji is also there. Shareek is his brand. His name is synonymous with this title. I have just been signed for the second part. I would say that the hero of the movie is still Jimmy bhaji," Kharoud added.
"I was excited to share screen with him. I was also wary of his acting abilities. I used to mug up the lines in the vanity van in order to prepare properly before shooting any scene [with him]. He's just brilliant.
"He's the first [specialist] Punjabi actor [of this century]. I've been watching his work from 'Maachis' (1996), 'Mohabbatein' (2000), his character in 'A Wednesday' [2008] is my favourite. Excitement was bound to be there. Why not?"
